Cleveland Wrestler

Got word yesterday that Cleveland wrestler/ Gielgud, had passed away. We actually met on, what is now, a defunct wrestling site and we discovered that, at the time, he was in walking distance from where I stayed. Ever since then, he was the opponent I wrestled the most and we became great friends. Even grabbed lunch every once in awhile. RIP Sir!

I am so sorry to to hear this. We talked often and we’re scheduled to wrestle. I knew his partner had been hospitalized for months. I wanted to wrestle him so much. We chatted one day and then he disappeared from the site. I wondered what had transpired. So sorry. We lost a good one.

Michael was a good friend, and he was the second guy I was able to wrestle from the old Takedown site. He was an amazing person, a talented actor, and beloved professor. He had lost his husband several months ago and taken it very hard. He was a tough wrestler with pretty serious strength and skills. His passing is a great loss to many of us, and is a wake-up call to reach out to old friends while we have the opportunity. Here’s to Michael! The world is poorer without him. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

Never had the pleasure to meet him, but besides wrestling we also shared a common field. Always sorry to lose one of the "family" but hope for his peace in the next life whatever that may be.

While I never got to meet Mr. Gielguid in person, I chatted with him on line many many times! I found him to be a refreshing and knowledgeable individual, full of energy, extremely willing to cross any and all social bounds and levels, just to be human and friendly with everyone! He will be missed!

My sincere condolences to his entire family and circles of friends!

Michael was a genuine friend. When I saw the news posted on Facebook, my heart sank. I wasn’t sure what the health problem was but he deteriorated quickly. Was never the same after his partner passed a few months ago. One of the most talented thespians I have ever met and loved wrestling as well.
