Oh what a good New Year it was here in Scotland.....The Scots really know about Hogmanay! I had three invites, two local and one about 260 miles North near to Aberdeen...I chose the latter!! . The really cold bad weather has slowed up in the New Year but our hike in the hills on 2nd January saw us at the tops in a blizzard again!! . Now I am back home and have moved into the new accomodation at the cottage, leaving my main house to be let out for a year or so, whilst I finish the many other smaller jobs here in my country seat!! . So, I have a bit more time now to find some fun wrestling and like minded people....then plan my next trip abroard!!

MORE SNOW! . A trip to my canal boat in Warwickshire turned into a series of visits to Allfighter friends, as the canal was frozen over! . A great oportunity as it turned out, for I had time to meet some really class people. Starting with Robert England, who was not only a great wrestler and fun to be with , but very hospitable and a good cook, I then met SubEric, for a fun afternoon in a private mat room and that evening,had a serious coffee drinking session with Nottsman too!. Finally, another visit to the nicest guy in Warwickshire, Warkscub, with more fun and great hospitality.....who needs a boat??! lol . I just escaped the Midlands in time, before the whole place was blanketed in snow, which caused two days of traffic chaos there. I arrived in the Borders to minus five degrees, but no more snow had fallen whilst I had been gone.

Well, two weeks of thick snow falling and really low temperatures ( for the U.K.) has kept the car in the garage and me in the house for the duration. At least I have had no excuse nor to continue with the new bathroom, but there has now become a shortage of materials, let alone being restriced to the tins and the freezer. The neighbours cat has kept away too, sensing my lurking presence.....she is very fat and well fed. Mmmmm.......... this morning the thaw came and with it sereal tons of melting snow, which came falling down from the roof of our terrace of houses...along with 20 feet of my cast iron guttering, simply ripped out of the brackets by the amazing weight. So, on the phone to the insurers. The builders have been called and now the waterfall from the fractured gutter end is cascading into the yard. Sigh.

Am within a couple of weeks of completeing my new bathroom and bedroom, so I felt entitled to some rest and relaxation, with a new friend from here, who invited me over last weekend, to wrestle........It was fun! I learned some holds, and how to submit gracefully I hope....I certainly was tought my manners and how to beg for mercy, nicely! lol! .......He is much bigger than me!! The lifting and moving of cement and sand will not seem so hard now...so its back to the plumbing and painting. J.

This week away from my bathroom work! I am on my canal boat in the Midlands, near Warwick and Rugby. It does however give me the opportunity to meet with warkscub, from this site, for a friendly wrestle and (hopefully) a meal!! It has been such mixed weather here I have been able to read and write and listen to the radio a lot...I even watched some t.v. although reception is poor in most places...especially in the driving rain and gales of Monday and Tuesday. I was soaked twice..good job the powershower is a good hot one. So I will be going home tomorrow, the next update will be when the bathroom is tiled..please, dont hold your collective breaths!! Jon
