Catfished

That really isn’t catfishing. It’s more like your opponent changed his mind or had something else to do the day of the match. My thought is that he just got a last minute match offer that he wanted more. Which is not being catfished, it’s him being an Ahole. Also flaky. I’d be very apprehensive making another match event with him. I had a good friend that use to make matches set up a meeting area before. Then he would walk to the meeting area. If he didn’t like what he saw he would just walk by the man. Not that’s being catfished. If I create a match event and I find out I cannot make it. I usually try to cancel a week or two ahead of time. 2 days is a bit Aholey. Especially if your excuse is a “regular match”. What the hell is that? I had a couple of matches scheduled for the end of this week and next week. I’m having major remodeling done on my home which was supposed to be done tomorrow. But of course the contractor extended another 2 weeks. That meant I had cancel my two matches last week. Damn!

Okay guys. I have put this behind me and wish there was some way to turn it off. Geez, it was the first word that came to mind, okay? In retrospect, a——-e is a much more appropriate label Thanks for the comments.

I don’t think you can be catfished if you’ve already met them?

Glad there is always someone with brains to define, disagree, or otherwise question dialogue on here. Thanks for defining “cat fishing” for us buddy. Call it what you want.

I concede you might have a point there. But I can’t change the title now, and the dialogue speaks for itself.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Your opponent was clearly a flake. There are too many of them out there. I hope things turn better for you soon.

Think you are too old to be catfished and taken advantage of? Think again. Chatted with a wrestler on here for weeks, setting up a rematch, getting excited, building up the suspense. Hell I even purchased new gear at his suggestion. Two days before our planned match he tells me that the day we had planned wasn’t good for him because he had a “regular” match on that morning. When I blew up on him he indicated it wasn’t a big deal to him and could not understand why I was angry. Over the anger now but still chagrined at being taken for a fool. The lesson is you are never too old to be tricked by these flakes.

Sounds to me like he just canceled on you. You shouldn't feel bad. We've all experienced that before. At least he didn't let you drive to the venue and then simply not show up

Sorry to hear that bud. I know I am looking forward to round 2 with you, no flaking from me. I look forward to seeing you in your new gear.
